One sunny afternoon, our class was assigned a special project: to create our own lanterns. Excited by the prospect of a hands-on craft activity, I couldn't wait to get started.

The first step was to gather the materials. I rummaged through my craft box and found some colorful paper, scissors, glue, and a string. My mom even helped me by giving me an empty tin can from the kitchen, which would be the base of my lantern. With all the materials ready, I began my creation.

I cut the paper into long strips and folded them accordion-style. Then, I glued the ends of the strips together to form a circular shape. This would be the decorative part of my lantern. Next, I used the glue to attach the paper circle to the top of the tin can.

For the lighting inside, I decided to use a small LED candle. I placed it inside the can and secured it with a bit of tape. Finally, I added a string to the top of the can, tying it in a loop so it could be hung up.

And there you have it—my very own handmade lantern! It was a fun and easy project that I really enjoyed. I hope you try making your own lanterns too.
